I’m finding when there is a power cut OR I go outside and reset the units, the power for the BRC1D52 Remote controller resets? BUT all the schedules are remembered. Seems strange the time goes but it manages to keep my preset schedules no?

The controller will retain the time clock settings for 2 hours when power is lost but will retain schedules indefinitely.
If your timeclock settings are lost immediately on power down then the controller capacitor may be faulty.
Might be worth updating the controller to a later model, say the BRC1E or the latest Madoka
