Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. Am in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.

The reason I started using it was honestly embarrassing — I never could get my head round what an ew payout would be once you get five places instead of three. I used to just eyeball it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the part I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it shows returns with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where I always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at calculate vig — free, no signup.

One thing that actually changed how I bet was the geekier bits. There’s an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is terrifying. Dutching calculator is handy too for when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. The interface feels very functional, let’s say — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it’s fine but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

Right, that’s me. Free, barely any ads, does what it says. Anyone who still does the maths on paper, try it — it’s saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
